Balancing Cannabis Workshops are a space for us to dive deeper than we can reach at Monday night meditations. This allows me to guide you through one specific energy source in the body and help you uncover and liberate stagnant energies in or around one particular aspect of your being.

What does safety feel like in the body?

This workshop will focus on the first energy source, also known as the ROOT chakra. This space, located at the base of the spine and extends about half way down the thighs,  impacts our felt sense of safety as we move through the world. This energy source, formed in very early stages of life, governs our ability to feel grounded within ourselves. Depending on the experiences in early childhood or even in utero, trauma, or perceived trauma, cause disconnections or distortions in this energy source, which affects our overall ability to exist with confidence, our tendency to live in fear, and our habits of belief around low self-esteem or self-worth. 

Distortion in the root chakra, overtime, creates energetic and emotional "debris" from events and circumstances in our lives where we were unable to effectively process, due to the inability to feel safe within our own bodies. 

When we use cannabis meditation to focus our attention on energy as it moves through the body, we can direct this stream of consciousness energy, the Energy of Love, into any space within that has "emotional or energetic debris." Where attention goes, energy flows, and as we send our attention to the root space, we liberate stuck, stagnant energies, by increasing the overall resonance of that space with unconditional love. 

Um, what? 

Basically, the cannabis cleans the nervous system. It dislodges old energies and emotions. It brings awareness to the patterns and habits created from these emotions, and essentially purges all of it out of the system. This might come as feelings of these old emotion states, intense sensations in the body, visions, flashbacks or "knowings," or in tremors, shaking and twitching.  Sometimes intense, sometimes insanely pleasurable, sometimes profoundly spiritual, this necessary aspect of healing requires surrender.  Our goal in this experience is just to keep the body as relaxed as possible. Open the mind to the healing power within your being and allow the Energy of Love to move and do whatever it needs to do to clean the nervous system, 

Something you truly have to experience to understand. 

Once you have liberated these stuck energies and emotions, you will have an expansive sensation where it feels like you have more space inside you. More space to take deeper breaths and more space to just ground into your body. At this point in the meditation, the intensity has subsided and you are dissolving into the energy of pleasure. 

The experience of pleasure in the body, when the nervous system is completely calm and you are simultaneously experiencing a felt sense of safety in your being is tremendously healing and is actually rewiring the neural networks in the brain to change the patterns of thought that are associated with the distortion or dissonance within the root.

How to Prepare for a Balancing Cannabis Workshop

Prepare Your Space

  • Create a quiet, comfortable environment where you won't be disturbed for the duration of the event. 
  • Check your internet connection and plug in your device to avoid losing power in the middle. 
  • Grab headphones, a blanket, and eye mask and anything else you desire to create a sacred space. 
  • Please arrive on time to ensure a sacred digital space for everyone participating.

Prepare Your Heart

  • Set an intention for the workshop. Perhaps asking for something specific, calling in something to your experience, surrendering something, or simply just set the intention to meet yourself in a new way. 
  • Open you heart and your mind. This experience is unlike anything you've ever experienced before. Notice any expectations you have, and try to come into the experience fully surrendered to the Divine unfolding. 
  • Give yourself 30 minutes after the workshop before committing to anything else. Build in a little buffer for yourself instead of running straight to the next thing.

Prepare Your Weed

  • Have your cannabis close by, but wait to smoke until we are together. 
  • If you prefer edibles or tinctures, consume about 25 minutes or so before we begin to try to time the onset to the beginning of the meditation part of the workshop. 
  • CBD or Delta-8 is a great alternative for those living in regulated markets without access to legal cannabis. 
  • If you're not consuming cannabis, that's ok! You're so welcome here. 
  • I recommend a cannabis fast for at least 24 hours prior to the workshop for maximum effect.
  • Note that meditating with cannabis INCREASES the felt intensity of the experience compared to other times when you consume. Less is more in this practice, until you feel confident navigating this new space within.

  • I'll open the session with a little context. I'll introduce myself and how this practice came to be. 
  • Next, I will dive into whatever we are focusing on for that week's meditation. Maybe its energy, maybe it's pleasure in the body, the chakra system, unconditional love, or whatever I feel like sharing. 
  • We start with a basic grounding meditation just to get us present and in our bodies. 
  • I will offer a blessing over the medicine and set the intention for the meditation. 
  • We will consume together as part of the experience. 
  • I will introduce you to energy in the body using gentle cues, asking and guiding you as you begin to explore the inner landscape. 
  • I'll invite you to get more comfortable. To lay down and stretch out. 
  • I will then guide you through a body scan meditation to relax the body and begin to move through areas of energy in the body. 
  • My cues become an anchor point, especially if you have a hard time quieting the thinking mind. The closer you listen to my words, the better. 
  • We will spend about 40 minutes in this space before I begin to bring you back into your physical body and the room that you're lying in. 
  • We will send gratitude and an offering of love to ourselves, each other and the Creator.
